Amity University Mumbai
On the occasion of Unity Day, Amity University Mumbai organized several events to inculcate the sense of Unity and integrity of the nation among students and faculty members.
On the occasion, a
talk was organized and Dr. Abdul Kadar Mukadam, an eminent political writer,
was invited as the guest speaker who threw the light on the life of
SardarVallabh Bhai Patel and also discussed his association and fondness for
Mahatma Gandhi and his role in nation Building. Dr. Mukadam was received by
Col. C. P. Ramchandani, Dir(Adm) and Dr. Artee Aggrawal and felicitated by Dr.
N. S. Reddy. Dr. C. K. Singh presented vote of thanks to the speaker and all
students and faculty members present on the occasion.
Col. C.P. Ramchandani, Dir (Adm) read the pledge and shared
his views on national integrity which was then followed by presentations/
documentaries on the life of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by students. On the
occasion a poster competition on the theme “Unity in Diversity” was organized
in which students of all streams participated actively. Prof. Asita Kulshreshtha,
Dr. S. V. Munde and Ms. Sabiha Badra were the judges of the competition.
As this day has been recorded as
Run for Unity day, a short marathon was held in the college. All the students
and faculty members participated in “Run for Unity”. As a part of unity, the
dress code of the day was white colour, which is also the symbol of peace. A
band was organized by the institute to encourage the students. Students were
distributed sweets and snacks after the Marathon. Thus a great day was
concluded leaving cherished and united feelings in the heart of everyone.
